EDOS has been blessed to be the home for many of our important community orgnanizations.
These organizations were founded from the true spirit of chesed and gemilut chasidim.
We are pleased and proud that the entire community, many shuls, and even otherwise unaffiliated individuals have come to make some of these causes their own.
We honor the passion and commitment of those who maintain, support, and do the day-to-day work of these organizations
EDOS was a major participant in NCSY, when its focus included synagogue youth. After this changed, EDOS re-evaluated which youth group would provide our young people with the greatest opportunities for local programming, with an entre to national and international programs. We selected Bnei Akiva.
Dr. Steve Feldman has guided the program from its inception until now, and our madrichim have gone on to national and Israel programs that leverage these connections.
A concerned group of parents of Jewish children with special needs expressed a desire to participate in day school inclusion. Seed money was granted by the Rose Community Foundation to establish an adapted curriculum at the Denver Academy of Torah, implemented by the Colorado Agency for Jewish Education (CAJE). After three years, the grant expired, but parents raised private money and the program was able to continue for another year. A task force study undertaken for CAJE in 2000-01 determined that a significantly expanded program would be required to meet the needs of the student population in Colorado.
Keshet of the Rockies serves Jewish children with special needs of elementary and secondary school age (roughly 5-21 years).
Founded by Elka Popack, Smile On Seniors Colorado is a unique volunteer program created to enhance the lives of local seniors.
Smile on Seniors Colorado is a unique volunteer program, created to enhance the lives of local seniors. Many of us have parents or family who are seniors, living alone or in senior facilities, who would benefit greatly from an extra visit from someone who isn’t family. Family cannot always visit as often as desired, and not always is there someone else to supplement those visits. And that’s where Smile on Seniors Colorado steps in. SOS matches volunteers with local seniors for a weekly visit, bringing joy and a sense of caring to many. With your help, SOS soon hopes to match a volunteer with every Jewish senior!
An Eruv is a community-enclosing boundary that treats the entire community, in a sense, as a single dwelling on Shabbat. In particular, carrying things in public areas is treated much like carrying them in ones own home. This allows those caring for youngsters to use strollers – or carry their charges – to and from Shul, and thus also permits a wider range of neighbors to be one another's guests for Shabbat meals.
EDOS lay leaders Jay Moskowitz and Dr. Yitzchak Teitelbaum took it upon themselves to create a maintainable organization to provide an Eruv for the entire East Side. Visit our Eruv page

Unfortunately, not every person in the community has the means to make ends meet, especially with kosher food priced high, education being expensive, and the current state of the economy.
Tomchei Shabbat of Denver provides kosher food for Jewish families in need in the Denver metro area. These provisions are specifically for Shabbat and Yom Tov meals. Families and individuals are referred, via local Rabbis, who make the sole determination as to need and duration of assistance. We provide both perishable and non-perishable food as well as other provisions for Jewish Holidays.

Bikur Cholim is an idea that is as old as the Jewish people. And, historically, Denver has been a magnet for those seeking cures for chronic and devastating diseases.
One of the things that makes this Bikur Cholim different is the support of an apartment, near to the hospitals, for the families of those requiring long-term treatment for serious illnesses.
Bikur Cholim, which translated means visiting the sick, is funded strictly on donations and is staffed by volunteers. There are no administrative costs and there is no charge to any individual for services provided by the organization. Bikur Cholim is available to Jews of all religious orientations.
The Rose Cemetery is the Bayt Olam for the Orthodox community of Denver.
The Rose Cemetery was strongly affected by the court, which reallocated water rights in Colorado. A number of members gathered together, worked with the courts and water rights holders to establish the required amount of water to operate the cemetery.

The YIZKOR Project was established with a dual mission: 1) to remember the six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust as individuals; and, 2) to honor their memory by helping to support the needs of aging Holocaust survivors and the Righteous Gentiles. The YIZKOR project is dedicated to addressing this critical, time sensitive mission through Yizkor-linked charitable acts and contributions, as well as associated education/remembrance activities for schools, families and communities to honor the memory of those who perished.
